Turning challenges into opportunities

Discovering Pride Lands and the amazing services provided in their after-school care program, has been game-changing for both our 7-year-old son Jaxon, who is autistic and has more complex needs compared to some other children his age, and for our family.

When we first approached Moses and the Pride Lands team, we were nervous – the main thing we wanted was to find somewhere where our son could feel happy and be accepted as himself, and we know this isn’t always an easy ask!

From the first visit, we felt understanding, acceptance, and inclusivity. Nothing has ever been a problem!

The opportunity to have 1:1 mentor support as a standard offering makes any worries about support ratios feel like a non-issue and gives us a real sense of assurance, something that is so important, and to be honest a rarity at times, to us as parents navigating some unique challenges for our child.

Our son absolutely loves going to Pride Lands each afternoon, and for us, this is hugely important.

On top of this, the inclusive approach to activities and the amazing efforts of the team are really showing as we see our son start to grow in confidence and independence.

We honestly feel that this has a lot to do with the Pridelands ethos and unwavering commitment to each child’s personal journey and well-being.

In a landscape where accommodating neurodiversity is not always the norm, the Pride Lands experience has been nothing but inclusive and supportive from the start.

We wholeheartedly recommend their programs to families seeking not just a care provider but a true partner in their child’s individual journey’s.

Thank you, Moses and the team, for turning challenges into opportunities, always having a smile for us (and Jaxon!) no matter what has gone on that day, and making time to ensure a positive impact on our child’s life each and every day.
