Kia Orana cubs, all the way from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.
My name is Savannah. If you’ve met me, you will know I am energetic, crazy and adventurous (not as much as Moses lol). Pridelands is the best mentoring programme I’ve been part of. We welcome everyone; no one is left behind. Each cub, staff member, and parent is valued and has something unique to offer the world.
It’s been a blessing spending my afternoons with you cubs, and I miss beating you all at badminton 😉 One of my favourite memories is 100% Pride Escape 2024. All the activities, so many funny moments with everyone and the highlight… when my van broke down! It was so cool seeing everyone get out of their element.
My biggest learning experience while being at Pridelands was to THINK-BIG and not to limit ourselves. Our cubs are fearless and that’s one of the best things to witness because it encouraged and challenged me to do the same in my life! I truly hope you ALL carry this with you as you become older.
This THINK-BIG mentality has contributed to where I am today – living in Rarotonga, the Cook Islands in the year. When I was leaving New Zealand, I was both excited and a little nervous because this was a new experience for me, but looking back now, it’s been the best decision, and I have so many cool memories to share.
Here’s the advice I would like to give.
- Don’t be afraid of change – it’s a good thing and allows room for us to grow.
- Push your comfort zone – accept challenges and opportunities that are new to you.
- Always be willing to try new things and embrace life.
I love Pridelands, and it will always hold a special place in my heart because of you all.
Ka Kite and peace out
From Savannah 😀
