My journey with Pride Lands

Julian talks to Moses about his internship at Pride Lands childcare

When I first started going to Pride Lands I was almost always getting in trouble.

Over the time I have been with Pride Lands it has changed me so much. When I first started going there I was almost always getting in trouble and doing the wrong things but now after 7 or 8 years with Pride Lands I’ve started as an intern for the Pride and am looking for a job at the age 14 – 15 years with the help of pride because without Pride I would not be like I am today.

So what I’m trying to say is if you know it’s good for you but don’t want to do it just go do it and you’ll thank yourself later on when the time comes. For example, if someone was overweight and started going to a gym but don’t like going but continued anyway, then over the next few years they will start noticing the difference and thank themselves for it.

Julian has graduated from getting to giving help at Pride Lands Wellington ChildcareThe same with Pride Lands they are here to help us achieve our best but the journey is long and difficult. But in time, we grow up and notice the difference. That’s exactly what happened to me. The journey was worth my while and I would like to thank my Mum and Moses as well as the Pride Lands staff for not giving up on me in my difficult times.

Other organisations and even my school when I was younger gave up on me when I was difficult but Pride Lands especially Moses and my Mum never gave up on me. For their persistence I owe them my future today.

I look forward to the day I can become a Pride Lands staff once I turn 18 years of age and work with everyone that has helped me along the way so I can help other kids at Pride becoming good responsible adults once they grow up and reaching their dreams.
