What’s the buzz?
As we move between alert levels 1 or 2, we would like to let you all know our hygiene processes are still in place, with hand sanitisers available and regular hand washing and cleaning of surfaces. Please ensure when you sign your cubs in/out that you print your name for tracking purposes. We have NZ COVID-19 tracing apps scanners at head office and all our centres as well. Please stay safe and have a pleasant day.
Before School Care
Before School Care at Pride Lands Southern Pride has provided incredible meals through our breakfast club like no other. Each Monday we run the Keep Fit Karapu Fitness Programme, Tuesday is for challenges, Wednesday for board games/a short trip, Thursday for sports and on Fridays we create wild art. Each day we conduct Kai Cubs Cooking Programme and cubs can take meals from the cooking programme and add it to their lunch box for school. Also, we have provided homework assistance for cubs who were unable to do them at home. Our structured programme keeps our cubs active and prepares them physically and mentally ready for the day in school
After School Care
Pride Lands Southern Pride has conducted some fantastic social development excursions since we came out of lockdown. We visited Inverlochy Art School where we learn the true nature of art from some of the best artists Wellington city has to offer. We also went to the Light House Cinema in Cuba where our cubs learnt about the movie and cinema industry. At Embroid Me print and clothing business we learnt about different printing styles and branding. We were also fortuante to visit Havannah Café also on Cuba, where we enjoyed the atmosphere of what it feels like to be in Cuba and doted upon with some virgin margaritas. Now that was fantastic and our cubs learnt so much from the experience. Pride Lands Western Pride organised their own leadership programme where the older cubs get to coordinate some of the daily activities and ensure the younger cubs behave appropriately and enjoy themselves. One of the highlights of Western Pride programmes is their cooking and baking activities based on our wonderful Genieva’s old family recipes that the cubs love and look forward to. Depending on which Pride Lands centre your cub(s) attend, all our centres offers roughly the same Pride Lands experiences. All centres offer a Kai Cubs cooking programme, fitness, wild arts, structured activities, homework support, the occasional weekly trips and good discipline. Teaching Confidence and Respect is our motto and we live and breathe it every day.
Fun Holiday Adventures
Our Spring Fun Holidays will be full of our famed Interactive Activities with Kai Cubs Cooking, Keep Fit Karapu Fitness and Life Skills Programme creating healthy Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Teas. The Overnight Sleepover at Matiu-Somes Island looks set to be a praised adventure escape by the cubs. Our evening activities included star-gazing, campfires with marshmallows, bush walks, fishing, watching blue penguins come to shore and other native and exotic birds. It is breath-taking. All our cubs show off their traditional attire and share cultural meals from their home country with everyone one of their old and new-found friends. It is a great way to remind our cubs to always be proud of who they are. Oh yes, of course, we also went to an authentic Indian family restaurant in Newtown where we enjoyed a whole array of Indian deli cases as well as mango lassi. We finish the school holidays with a huge fair (Pride Fair) designed to teach our cubs economics and a big party we call Last Supper.
